I was unable to find a definite answer for this question, but here is what I learned regarding the link between alcohol use and fertility:
1. RESOLVE- The National Infertility Association states that moderate alcohol consumption can interfere with the ability to become pregnant. They consider a moderate drinker to be one who drinks 5 or more alcoholic beverages a week. In addition, the National Institutes of Health published a study that supports that heavy drinking can lead to inconsistent menstrual cycles, potential infertility, an increased risk of miscarriage and unhealthy fetal growth and development.
2. Other studies are not able to make the link between alcohol use and fertility issues.
3. What medical research does agree on though is that women who drink heavily (more than 6 drinks a day), are much more likely to have irregular cycles and problems with ovulation. This in turn can definitely cause women to struggle with conception.
