Yes, it is true! This study found that men with deeper voices had more children than those with higher voices. This study took place in Tanzania and the researchers interviewed close to 50 men and women of the Hadza tribe. After talking with the men and women, their findings held true. The man with the deepest voice had 10 children as opposed to the man with the highest voice, who had only 3. Why? The study suggests that deep voices are caused by increased testosterone. Men with increased testosterone may have started families earlier and been involved in relationships earlier than their counterparts. In addition, after interviewing the women, the researchers found that women are more attracted to men with deep voices. These men may have more “opportunities” to father children! Survival of the fittest I suppose, in this hunting and gathering tribe! This study can be found in the journal, Biology Letters.
