Hello, I am creating this new forum to connect to anyone out there ttc with fibroids.  I was first diagnosis with fibroids over two years ago (although I suspected something was up given the extremely painful and heavy cycles I've endored).  As a result, I was prescribed birth control at age 17 and took it for approximately 10 years.  After my diagnosis and seeing other doctors they all said one thing in common, "stop taking the birth control," as it can feed the fibroids because of the extra estrogen.
I have more than a few fibroids, the biggest one is about the size of a golf ball and it's located  on the uterus wall, preventing concepton.  The first doctor said, that in order to have children, I would have to have major surgeries to remove the fibroids and would never be able to have natural child birth (which was very upsetting).  After doing my own reserach, I decided to try natural and less invasive procedures (diet, acupuncture, herbs, supplements).
Now after two years, we are ttc, and it's been about four months.  I am taking folic acid, garlic supplements, vitamin E, and Lydia Pinkham (among other supplements but these are the consistant ones).  I just wanted to hear what has worked for others out there and from others who are in similar situations.  Thanks for listening and/or responding.

I do not have fibroids, but have been reading a book called "The Anatomy of the Spirit" and in it the author talks about fibroids being a result of 1st and 2nd chakra problems... I read your post and thought of that so I wanted to share. My DH and I have been TTC for 19months and have unexplained infertility, so I've been reading a lot about energy and how experiences in our lives can actually manifest in physical ways (like infertility). Of course, I still believe western medicine has its place too.
I can't really give you advice on what works, because nothing has worked for us yet, but welcome to the forum!

Hi Butterfly, being a Feng Shui consultant I definitely believe in energy and how it affects us. I have a book that goes into chakra a little bit, I will have to read more about it. However, white and pastel colors are associated with children and creativity in Feng Shui. Wearing these colors and putting them in your children and creativity area are ways to use the colors. As well as presenting things in three if you are ttc #1 are auspicious. For example, two large candles and one small candle, with the small candle in the middle. Making room for a baby is also auspicous. Clutter is also an important factor (you don't want it) and the list goes on, but if your interested I'll be happy to share. Thanks for the welcome!

FSC-Welcome to the site. I was recently diagnosed with fibroids and am going in for a follow up appointment next Wednesday to see the ultrasound results. I have also been wondering how I can take care of them with out surgery. I'm going to see my naturopath/midwife too to see what kind of treatment she recommends. I will let you know what I learn.

We have been TTC#2 for 6 months now. It is a journey and all we can do is stay healthy and keep trying! By the way, I love your input about wearing positive colors and the candles. I'd love to hear more!

Butterfly- Thanks for the book recommendation. I think I will check it out.

Hi Angela, Good luck with your appt next week. Depending on where the fibroids are located and the size them will help you detrimine the best care. There are certain things we should avoid or try to decrease in our diet, i.e. carbs, processed foods, dairy, carbonated dringks and more ( from what I've read). And things that should be included in our diet, high fiber foods, green vegetables, plenty of water and more. But I'm sure your naturopath will give you more details on whats best for you.

Angela, I wanted to give you some more information in regards to Feng Shui. First lets talk about clutter. When I refer to clutter, I don't just mean some pile stack high in the corner. I am also referring to the clothes you haven't worn in over a year, the papers in your file cabinet that can be shredded, anything that your saving for the "what if" day. We first have to create space for new opportunities to come into our life and one of the best ways to conquer this is to clear our clutter.
Now, there are three important areas in the home that you want to pay close attention to: The front door entrance, the bedroom, and the kitchen.
The front door entrance is important because energy come in through the front door. It's good to keep this area clean and clear of clutter, you wouldn't want to put anything behind on the door that keeps it from opening all the way. A wlecome mat and/ or greeters (flowers, lights) are also auspicious.
Kitchen- this area is important because its where we get and prepare food to nurish our bodies. It's important to use all burners equally, countertops should be clear of all items, and sharp objects put away.
Bedroom- mirrors have a lot of energy, you wouldn't want a mirror facing the bed, and you wouldn't want the bed directly in the door way, as this is where energy enters and it could affect your sleep.
For the children and creativity area, posters, paintings, photos, and figures of children are good. Circular, oval, or arch shaped items are also auspicious. Things made from metal, quotes, affirmation, and sayings pertaining to children and creativity are also auspicious.
Here are just some tips to what anyone could do to enhance there home space, creating opportunities to come knocking at there door.

Thanks! I love those tips. It sounds like our house is pretty good. The last time we moved my husband and I got rid of anything we hadn't used in over a year. We both feel better when the counters are clear and surfaces are clean. I am sure there is more we could do to make our home more Fend Shui. Maybe I'll get a book! I love creating positive energy around me.
So I had a good Dr. appt last week. I only have one 6mm fibroid and it is on the upper posterior part of my uterus. So it shouldn't interfere with TCC. I do have a cystic ovary. It isn't ideal but also shouldn't interfere with TCC.
I had a good visit with my naturopath. I don't know if you take flax oil or evening promrose oil, but I take both. She told me to take the flax seed oil from CD 1 to ovulation as it has estrogen like properties, and to take evening primrose oil from ovulation to menses as it has progestrone like properties. I thought that was interesting.
Good luck, and thanks for all the advice!

Hi Angela, I'm glad to hear your appointments went well. I'm going to resaerch more on the evening primrose oil and I have also heard that flax seed oil is very good for us period, esp. when ttc.
I am also glad to hear your openness to Feng Shui and see that you create positive energy in your environment. Karen Kingston books are great for first starters, easy to understand and apply.

Can anyone recommend a female gyn/obgyn in north miami,fl.? Here I am ttc and I don't have a doctor that I trust and like. The last doctor that I really liked was at a birthing center and she ended up retiring early. I am looking for a female who practices natural solutions and treats the body as a whole, not quick to prescribe meds to treat any problem short term. If any body knows of someone, please let me know. Thanks
