The dress is horrible! I must've gotten it in the wrong size because it looks like a potato sack. FAIL!

Shopping for special occasions is the worst when pregnant. Maybe this other one I got will work. I hope so because the first wedding is next weekend!

September 24, 2010 (dress fiasco... excuse the vanity and pettiness of this post)

*Panic ensues*

The second dress attempt was horrible, too! With the wedding tomorrow, there is nothing I can do. I've got a decent dress (pre-pregnancy) that still fits, but for some odd reason it is unusually hot here for the end of September. So, while it's fall... the weather dictates to wear summer clothing. This is very frustrating.

So do I go weather appropriate or season appropriate? I know the answer, but I'm screwed either way. My shoes *that fit* are fall shoes that only look good with black tights. The dresses that go with my fall shoes and black tights are fall-type dresses. So really the issues here are:

1. I don't have any hot-weather-appropriate shoes that will fit my expanded feet.
2. And, the dresses that are available to me are fall-type dresses.

I guess I will just have to wait and see how I feel the moment I dress for the wedding.

September 25, 2010 (dress fiasco part deux... and GREAT NEWS!)

Dress fiasco: The attire I chose to wear ended up being OK for the church ceremony, but awful for the reception. Why? Well, the church was air-conditioned and very cool, but the reception facilities didn't have air-conditioning. I was a horrible mess. We left early because I was getting over heated. Anyhow, that has passed, but I've got another wedding to attend in Nov. *sigh*

GREAT NEWS: A good friend/colleague is pregnant. Many moons ago, I blogged about her and her difficulties in TTC. She sent be an image text a couple weeks ago showing her BFP! I was so happy for her-- I began to cry. The joy she must have felt after seeing that! Now understandably so, she is very anxious that something may happen, but I told her that *if* she M/Cs, that it was no fault of her own. At least now, she knows that she can do it again and know which days to BD. I'm so happy for her.

October 16, 2010 ("What?! You guys are lying to me," I said to the nursing staff.)

During my last prenatal appointment, we found that I gained a whopping 1 lb. =) When the nurse told me this, I accused her of lying to me-- of course in a playful way. She giggled and allow me to look at my charts. Sure enough there it was-- I've gained a total for 4.5 lbs. since my very first weigh in. With my cow-sized status, I just can't believe it. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled (as is my doctor), but it's amazing how I've managed to do this without even trying.

Some other good news: I DON'T have gestational diabetes. Yay! I took the 3hr test and only one of the results came out abnormal. The doctor told me to watch my sweets/carb intake and everything should be fine, which I've been doing already.

Now that I'm in my 3rd, I am now seeing my OB every other week. My husband and I have been taking baby classes. Baby shower is next week. We will begin setting up the nursery at the end of this month. Everything is beginning to roll. It's kinda exciting.

And, little Benny is recognizing his song when I play it... well at least I'd like to think so.

*B... b... b... Benny and the Jets*

October 23, 2010 (Baby Shower)

Good Morning! Today is our baby shower, and boy, did it take a village to make this happen! Everyone is involved, including myself. It's very heartwarming to know that all my loved ones are coming together to make this happen. This kid will be the first grandson/nephew to our circle of family and friends. This boy is going to be very special to many (I'm sure every first time mom says that).

It's going to be a very busy day-- starting off with a morning ladies tea at a lovely little tea salon downtown, and then a co-ed shower to end the day. I hear lots of fun, food, games, and prizes are to be had. I cannot wait.

November 7, 2010 (Go San Francisco Giants)

Our baby shower fell on Game 6 of the NLCS Giants vs. Phillies. Being huge San Francisco Giants fans, there was absolutely no way we weren't going to see it. So my brother made arrangements to air it during the shower festivities. Mind you... he had to bring his TV to the venue in which it was held. It ended up being the best baby shower ever because the Giants won the Pennant that evening leading them to compete and eventually win the World Series.

Latest developments.

My health: I haven't gained any weight again. Doctor is not worried. Neither am I.

Baby's health: He's measuring 1 week larger than he's supposed to. I must change my diet and exercise more.

How I'm feeling: I'm progressively getting more tired each day. Feet and hands are beginning to swell. Certain movements are becoming uncomfortable. Bouts of fatigue wash over me-- kinda like waves lapping along the shore. It's odd.

Nesting: I'm nesting BIG TIME. With the help of some very generous friends and family, the nursery is done. All that's missing is the glider/ottoman and washed clothes and linens. I'll find a way to post pictures. It's absolutely adorable.

Baby name-- As stated many posts ago, he is going to be named Benedict "Benny" Wobbles after my father. Since the Giants won the World Series, another nickname of his will be "Buster" after Buster Posey, rookie catcher of the San Francisco Giants and pivotal in helping the Giants win it. Google him.

November 19, 2010 (leg cramps, TMI, swelling)

Oh boy... and here it goes. The uncomfortable 3rd trimester. You name it, I've got it.

-hemorrhoids
-swelling of hands, legs, and feet
-night leg cramps
-body acne (umm... I got a pimple on my knee. Really.)
-tossing and turning at night
-laying any way other than on my left side is uncomfortable
-fatigue
-nesting (I cleaned our garage the other day)
-"pregnesia" or "brain to utero drain"

At times it can be comical, but at times it can be downright frustrating. But all in all, I'm glad to be experiencing them because very soon my son will be born and most of these things wil go away.
