Karen, Where abouts in NY does your hubby work. I live in Dutchess County. About 1 hour and a half north of the NYC.

My dh doesnt work Away from here. But he does work long hour days. Usually not home til 7-8-9ish. With Sunday being his only day off. Which means he's usually side work anyways. Ugghh But I do get to be a SAHM to Santino. And that's how we both want it! So I dod feel very privileged to be able to do so.

ukmama,
UGH! The extra worry of a hubby who travels when the car is not in top condition!! My hubby drives my "old" car - a 2002 VW Jetta, with a diesel engine. It's got less than 90,000 miles on it, at least it did when he left. Ha ha. However, we still had to put $1100 of work and 4 days/3nights at the dealership into it before he left. (Have I mentioned how much I hate loaners?) But, he noticed right away that the car was handling better, so I guess it was worth it. Plus, my parents stepped up and footed the bill for us, so I really can't complain too much.

Mary,
We had a short stint where Adam worked close enough to commute to/from work, but it was still over an hour drive each way, so it was pretty much like he wasn't home at all. Especially when the kids are young, and you're putting them to bed before Daddy gets home. Adam hates being what he calls "a weekend Dad," but I am so proud of him for the sacrifices he makes for us, so that I can stay home with our kids. We wouldn't have it any other way! Love

Today was his first day actually on the job in CA, and I kept the kids up a little late (within reason...tomorrow's a school day) to see if they'd be able to at least talk to him on the phone before bed. It was a bust Sad - either he didn't have his phone on him (sometimes they don't let the guys wear their cell phones because the signals can actually detonate the bombs) or he doesn't have a good signal. Now I'm just hoping he'll get back to the hotel before I fall asleep tonight! Puzzled

Jennifer I hope you got to speak with your hubby it must be hard not being able to call him when you want.

After all the stuff happening this week these are the times I wish my hubby was here.
First my son work up 5 times one night why I have no clue as he never wakes up, the next night he woke up with a fever of 102 first one in 3 1/2 years so I was a little shocked but thankfully after an hour and being up until 3 am it started to come down, last night he was in bed by 6PM and woke up 2-3 times so I have no clue what's going on with him.
Then the things going on with this pregnancy the not so great u/s and waiting until Thursday for the next one but for some reason I really feel I won't make it as I have been spotting on and off for 2 days luckily it's not much but still there in the back of my mind and the menstrual like cramps I am just so stressed and not sure what is going to happen but I know it won't be good.

Karen...........I'm praying too! I went through my miscarriage while DH was away, and it was really, really hard. I was lucky to have friends who could take me to the hospital who have been through a couple of miscarriages, so they understood, but I still wish DH could have been here. As for the spotting, the only thing I know for sure is that everyone is different. My spotting led to a miscarriage, but when I first noticed it I did a LOT of reading online and there are tons of women who get spotting and are just fine. I'm hoping that's the case for you.

Thanks Jennifer & Katie, so far the spotting comes and goes so only the u/s on Thursday will let me know what I'm really dealing with. I'm going in thinking the worst as it's easier that way.

Karen,
I know that many docs will put someone on bed rest if they're spotting. Have you called your doc to let him/her know you're spotting? Try to take it easy as much as you can. Believe me, I know how tough that is with a 3yo, but don't feel guilty if you just pop a video in and set him up with a bowl of Cheerios and a sippie cup on the coffee table, while you lay down on the couch. Don't worry about the laundry or housework. Your health and the baby's well-being are your main concern right now. And Katie's right....I have a cousin who had BLEEDING in the first few weeks of her PG, and she went on to deliver a healthy, beautiful baby boy.

I called the dr on Friday and they sent me for blood typing and RH factor no HCG levels.
Thankfully the spotting has come and gone but right now I'm not spotting and the cramping has slowed down, I really didn't think I would make it to Mon as the symptoms where really scary but I have and now just waiting for the u/s to see whats going on.
I was actually thinking last night I wonder if it was the u/s that made me spot as she was digging deep to see my ovaries and everything else.
Thanks for reading and will update on Thursday with good or bad news.
