Here's my 2 cents' worth:

Don't count your luteal phase out just yet...there could be other things going on. I've heard that sometimes post-BD "secretions" (i.e., swimmers that are leaking out) can be mistaken for EWCM. I'd be more likely to believe that the combination of the positive OPK and the EWCM *together* indicate Ov, and maybe your cycle is just off this month because of stress or travel, or whatever.

I think late is a relative term...I didn't Ov until CD21, which I thought was kinda late...but I "followed the signs" and got PG, so I'd say there's still hope. I'd say it's time to get off the computer and start BDing!

I O'd on CD 24 this month, and got my frist (of i hope many) BFP this afternoon! Don't count yourslef out just yet!!

After being on BC for ten years I would think it will probably take your body a couple of months to sort itself back out. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the way BC works is that it stops your body from ovulating, so it's no wonder if you haven't even had a regular ovulation yet.
Having said that, it's not unusual for me to have more than one fertile patch of CM, especially when my cycles go long, which it sounds like yours is doing. It could be on day 21 that your body was getting ready to ovulate, but something stopped it, like stress, or maybe even just confused hormones after BC. Figuring out when you're OVing is a combination of checking a LOT of different details, so you can count on just one to tell you for sure. Fertile CM alone without a positive OPK is not a definite sign, and a positive OPK without fertile CM is not a definite sign. It's when you get both together that you can be more certain.
I would strongly encourage you to start charting BBT, though, because I've found this is the best way to know for certain when you're OVing, especially if your cycles are irregular, like mine. Then when you get that fertile CM and positive OPK you can start BDing, and once you've seen a definite rise in your temperatures afterwards you know for absolute certain that you have OVed and BDed at the right time.

Oh.........and just on a side note, the one time I got pregnant all my signs indicated I was OVing on CD 21, but then nothing happened, and I FINALLY OVed on CD25, like smiller. So it's never too late! An OV day is an OV day!

So I got a darker line this AM that is the same color as the control so I guess I am getting my surge! how long do your tests usually stay positive? I wish I had been trackking my BBT this month as well but it was too late in my cycle to start! Hopefully this is me ovulating...just "late"!
My husband and I are BDing, and have been all last week and this week, so we shall see what happens!

I usually get positives two days in a row, but this last cycle it was three. I think a lot of women only get it for one day, though. Just depends on the person.

I got my positive OPK on CD 23 and I am hoping to get my BFP. I am sure it just because your body is trying to get back on schedule after 10 yrs. on BC.

I had + tests for 3 days. I think depending on what time of day you are testing, it can prolong how many + you get.

Great! Thanks for all of your help! Yesterday I believe was my + and this AM its lighter so I am pretty sure that was my surge and now its going back down. How exciting! Its really a great feeling to get a + on a test! No matter what the test is! hahaha! Smiller, how exciting you now have a pregnancy ticker!!! hehehe
