I went to get confimation from a dr's office as I need to have a letter with the EDD for insurance.
I made sure I didn't drink to much as I didn't want any question, well the nurse came in and said the first test was a very slight line and she would say negative but was re-testing.
I have taken 3 tests one digital and 2 EPT's and they have all been positive. She came back and said the second was darker and so it was positive.
I am 5 weeks 1 day but now am having doubts, can you get false positives and she asked if I had a UTI and that may mess with the test but I said no.
I am never late so if I wasn't pregnant my last AF was october 12th, I just don't want to think I am go into an OB's office thinking I'm 10 weeks and then finding out I'm not pregnant.
Do you think I should get a second opinion or just take it as I am 5 weeks?

I would probably ask for bloodwork so they can check your hcg levels.

Well if the 2nd line was darker using the same urine then I would guess that the first test was defective or she didn't use it right, and even a slight line is still a positive, so how she was going to put (-) I don' t understand. There is no way that you have have 5 false positives in a row without being pregnant. Go to your doc with confidence. You may not feel pregnant every single day and question it, but you're officially a preggo now

Yes the second test was with the same sample.
It just shocked me and had me second guessing as I have to wait to find a dr.
I thought you could'nt have false positives but after 5 tests they all can't be wrong.
Thank you for making me feel better as I have very few symptoms and just get freaked out

Nancy The wait is FINALLY over...our little girl is HERE!
well, i think mine might actually start to grow soon...when I go to bed it night, it seems pretty big (for me) like in my pictures on FB, but when I wake up, it would always be flat again. well, just over night, this morning when I woke up i had like a grape-fruit sized lump in my belly that i could see and feel, it was totally hard. i showed dh and he couldn't believe it. After getting up and walking around, it has setteled down into my very lower abdomen, so there really isn't a visible bump more than usual, but I think that might mean a bump is on it's way for me, hopefully!!

ukmama- I've told this story but its been so long since my BFP that you newer ladies may not have seen. Way back (gosh it feel like forever) when I got my first BFP I was right around 4-5 weeks, I cant remember the exact date right now and I left my calendar at home. Anyways..all weekend my bbs were really sore so I knew something was up so that Monday I took a hpt (one of the ones from this site) and got a very, very faint BFP I was skeptical so I used the same urine and took another test, also a very faint BFP. That same day I went to have lunch at my moms office and told her how I'd cut my leg pretty bad that weekend and hadnt had a tetnus shot in a number of years so she suggested that I get one while I was there. At this point I'm debating whether or not to say anything about the BFP but decided that if there were any risks I wanted to know so I said "can you get a tetnus shot if you are pregnant??" My mom said that it would be fine but that she wanted me to take a pregnancy test too. Well that test ended up being negative, and when I mentioned somehting about the first morning urine sample the doctor said that it didnt matter. I knew that it very well could matter and I also knew deep inside that I was in fact pregnant. Needless to say I took a test everyday for the next 2 weeks just to be sure. I guess you cant always rely on the doctors!
