Hey everyone! I am new to this and have come here for a little support! My husband and I have been TTC since July and I recently purchased the ovulation test strips. My period has been all over the place in the last 2 months so  I am not sure if we are really even "trying" on the right day! I am hoping that with these strips I will have a more accurate idea as to when I am ovulating.  I got off birth control (the nuvaring) in July.  Prior to getting off, I had been on birth control since I was fifteen.  I am thinking that it might have something to do with my crazy cycles! My body is totally not used to its own estrogen! hahaha Smile I look forward to chatting w/ you ladies and any insight you can give me! One thing I had a question about was when is the best time to use the test strips, morning, mid day, evening??? Smile Thanks for any help you can offer! Smile

Hi Wanna be a mommy,
Welcome to the site!! Sounds like your body is still trying to regulate itself. I bet it feels like a crazy adventure trying to figure out when you ovulate!! I think everyone is different in terms of when they test with the ovulation strips. When I knew I was near ovulation, I actually tested in the morning and then again in the in the late afternoon.....kind of obsessive I know! LOL! I know that lots of women have had great experiences using FertilAid to help them regulate their cycles as well!
Sending you lots of baby dust!
Smile Elizabeth

Wanna be,
Welcome ot the site - you will love it here! It's been about a month since I joined and this month I have felt so much more relaxed because I have been able to talk to others that are going through the same thing as you are.
I too am feeling very hormonal. I went off the pill the end of June after being on it for about 15 years. MAJOR changes occurred, the first month I was convinced I was pregnant because my body had changed so much.
The first two months I had bought expensive OPK's and felt I was just spending too much money on it (even though I want that baby so badly). Last month I didn't test at all and it drove me crazy, even though I had O'd at the time when I thought I was going to the previous 2 months I kept wondering if I was. Sooooo this month we have stepped it up quite a bit. I purchased the OPK from this website which I love so much more than the others. We are also using soft cups and preseed. DH also surprised me with a fertility monitor so we will be using that next month if AF arrives. I have found with the OPK that when I test in the morning I don't have as much luck as when I test late afternoon/evening. Like Elizabeth I have started testing late morning and late afternoon when it comes closer to O.

Good luck and lots of baby dust to you!!! Smile

How funny! We have almost the same story and the same screen name! Smile:) haha, it really offered me a lot of relief when I read your post. Thank you so much for your reply. I am looking forward to getting the tests in the mail. I hope they are helpful! Smile I guess I will do the same, as far as testing twice when I get close to ovulation. Just like you when I first got off the BC I thought I was pregnant! haha My hormones were going crazy! I hope that within the next month my body will start to regulate a little bit! Wink I am so excited for you though! I hope that all works out and AF does NOT come near!!!! I really appreciate all of your advice! LOTS AND LOTS of BABY DUST!!!

Wanna be a mommy,
Hi! And welcome! I have to echo Elizabeth and Tonya is saying that you are in the EXACT right place for all the info, products, and most importantly, the SUPPORT you need during this crazy time! I used my OPKs at around 2 PM every day, based on the info I found on this website, and had no problem detecting my surge, either. In fact, I even noticed a fade-in pattern for 2 days before I got my actual positive. After that, just because I was new to OPKs and fertility charting, I continued to test a couple times a day because I wanted to see how long my surge lasted. (I am strangely fascinated by the way our bodies work, so I am a POAS addict.) Laughing out loud Anyway, I had irregular cycles because of breastfeeding, so I was also clueless about my Ov day, and we were just going under the assumption that I Ov'd on CD14. After using the OPK and charting my BBTs, I found out that I'd actually Ov'd on CD21! With that knowledge, we were able to maximize our most fertile time, and amazingly, thankfully, we got our BFP just yesterday (12DPO), so there is hope for you! Since you've been on BC for so long, it will probably take your body a while to get back to "normal," but with the OPKs, you can pinpoint your Ov, even if it changes every month, and get your BFP quicker than if you were just "winging it." And hopefully real soon!
Best wishes for baby blessings!

Jennifer,

WOW!!!! Congratulations! That is soooo exciting! Smile:) Reading your post brought tears to my eyes! I am so happy for you and your little family. Your words calmed me down a lot and I am really looking forward to trying the OPK out this month. I, just like you thought I was ovulating around day 14 and am curious to see what I get with the tests to see when it ACTUALLY is happening! Thank you for your encouragement. I really appreciate it. It means a lot to hear that there is hope!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
