Hello!
Well, I was talking with my Mother this weekend & her last pregnancy came up in conversation.  (Her last pregnancy was with me & she was 38)  She informed me that she had 3 completely normal periods before she found out she was Pregnant with me.  Has anyone heard of this before?  I was just curious on your thoughts.
Thanks,
Janice

I've heard this befor and I've also done some research it say that as long as you are pregnant you CANNOT have a period.

I love watching that show "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant" on TLC or Discovery Channel (can't remember which one). A lot of those ladies claim that they had their periods throughout their pregnancy and that is why they did not know they were pregnant. One of my co-workers and I have discussed that show many times and she says that her own mother got her period the 1st 6 mths of her pregnancy with her. However, in medical terms I do not think they technically consider it a period. Lots of women bleed during pregnancy. I was even told by my Dr office that bleeding is not always a concern during pregnancy. Unfortunately, when I started bleeding last week it was a concern and I miscarried.

I still find it fascinating how women can be pregnant and not know it. But I guess we are all different. Wink

Kim, I watched that show for the first time a couple weeks ago...craziness! The episode I watched was a lady that was scheduled for a hystorectomy and they did the pre-surgery U/S and she was 36 weeks PG!

My mom bleed and thought it was her period for 4 months when she was PG with my brother. She was having stomach pains and some other issues and thought there was no way that she could be pregnant since my other brother was only 6 months old at the time when the pain started. They did all kinds of stuff and even had her drink some dye stuff and then do an ultrasound when they found the little baby hiding in there. I guess 20 years ago it wasn't standard to do a PG test at the Drs office like they do here and since she said she was still having periods...

So my 2 brothers are 54 weeks apart. The oldest one was 3 months old when she got pregnant with the next one...I could not imagine going through that!

Thanks for the information girls! So, do you think it's possible it could be hereditary? Just questioning because last month I only bleed for 2 days. It started the 26th day (right on time) and 2 days later it was gone. hmmmm. I took a PG test & negative. Guess I'll have to wait & see.

Kim & mabnng, What day is that show on? "I didn't know I was pregnant"

It was on last night on TLC. I am in TN and we are on central time. It came on here at 9:30 ct. But I have caught it on at like 6:00 in the evening. They play it pretty frequently at random times. Last night there was this lady on there in her 40's. Never planned on getting pregnant and she was going through peri-menopause. She never showed, she always missed periods and continues to have irregular periods. Then she went into labor (no knowing she was in labor). She literally had a baby in her pants. It was so funny b/c on the show when they were interviewing her she said she was lying on the hospital bed in the ER and all of a sudden felt something come out of her. Her pain stopped and she said she felt something in her pants. They cut her pant leg open and there was a baby!!!! It almost seemed fake. It was crazy. I mean I am sure these women are telling the truth. But last night's was just funny. B/c she kept saying, "I literally had a baby in my pants!" Weird! Wink

That is funny!! I just can't believe that some woman don't know they are pregnant until they deliver. I've heard of it before but I can't believe they don't know. Hmmmm

Hey Kim, Just curious if you had any sickness in the beginning? I've been feeling weird the past couple of days. I'm sitting at work just had lunch (heathly lunch) and an hour later my stomach is growling & I feel nauseous. I have to eat a little something to make it go away. Did you have anything like this? Can you have this symptom at ovulation time?
Any advice!
Thanks,
Janice

I did not have any nausea in the beginning. There were a couple of times about 6 weeks pg where I had a a couple of episodes of feeling nauseas but never got sick. I didn't really have morning sickness with my son, so I did not think anything of it this time when I did not have any morning sickness.
However, around implantation with this last one I had some sharp shooting pains in my lower pelvic region. Plus was gassy and bloated. I had some mild cramps when I ovulated but never any nausea. I don't know if that is typical or not. I have trouble with my blood sugar dropping and if I don't eat something little every 3 hours I will feel a little nauseas. Not sure what it could be.
I hope it is leading to a BFP, though! Smile
