Hey girls,
I just started using the ovulation tests from this site. I did one yesterday, CD8. My cycles are irregular, but usually on the long side, so it shouldn't be ovulation day anytime soon. I got a faint positive though (which I understand is a negative, since not as dark as the control line). Does this happen to others? Does it mean I'm ovulating sometime soonish, or could it be a faint line for weeks?
Thanks for any advice:)! Baby dust!

From my experience with this brand and with Answer brand, my line will definitely get darker than the control line during the LH surge. When I start using them, on cd11, I'll get a really faint line. It progressively gets darker the next day, so I know that if it starts to look pretty close, it'll be dark in a day or 2. So, I would start BDing on the days where it's getting close to the control line shade. It means ovulation is coming soon!

Thanks Jen! So even if it takes a few days for the line to get dark, I might be ovulating much earlier in my cycle than I assumed. That will be good to find out Smile!

Hey ladies, I have some questions again.
So, I've been doing the ovulation test every day since day 8. Sometimes it's a faint line, sometimes no line, but not getting darker. I'm supposed to ovulate tomorrow, and I felt some little pain down on the right side last night. (I usually don't feel myself ovulate, so I don't know what it's like...)
The test should be a BFP a day or two before O, right?
Is it supposed to get slowly darker and darker each day or could it be no line and then BFP the next day?
What does O pain feel like? Is it exactly when you ovulate or a day or two before?
Thanks and baby dust to everyone Smile!

I felt my "o" pain the day it happened. I know because I was triggered the day before. As far as the OPK's go. I was using the ones on this site too and I began on CD11 but got a faint line on CD 11 and 12 and then a dark line usually on CD 13 and 14. The day after "o" the line would go away. Best of luck to catch it!! Smile

Hey there, I've used the test strips from here and to be honest, I have never gotten a positive, but I know that I'm ovulating. I was taking them after I would get home from work which is about 5:30 and even my DH (who at first didn't know what he was looking at) never saw a line as dark as or darker than the control line. There has been some lines that were ALMOST as dark as, but never a true TRUE positive for me. We're still trying though and I'm 'lucky' enough to feel my ovulation each month. Don't get discouraged, but maybe also tie in BBT tracking to see how it measures up to the O testing. Good luck and *sprinkles* of baby dust! Big smile

Thanks ladies! For the past 2 days I got definite lines but not nearly as dark as the control line. I'm "supposed to" have ovulated yesterday, but with my crazy cycles I really have no idea. I hope the lines get more definite soon. I'd love to really know when I O.

I haven't tried BBT charting yet and I'm not to eager to start- DH and I usually BD first thing in the morning, and I want to keep it natural and romantic for him. He doesn't like it when he knows it's "for a reason", although of course in general he knows... anyway, if I take the temp chart to bed, I think it would not go over well. I'll do when I get more desperate, but I'm still hoping it happens for us before I get to that point (so far I'm "only" doing OPKs, Fertilaid, Mucinex, soft cups, and staying horizontal for a while after BD when I can).

Baby dust to everyone who needs some Smile!

I had the same experience as you - my lines were not nearly as dark as the control line, but did follow a pattern of light one day, darker the next, and then very faint the next evening. The rest of of the time I get no line at all. I know the instructions say that to be positive it has to be as as dark as the line but since the O pains and and BBT charting and everything all line up, I think that's just how it is for me. Maybe it's the same for you. Best of luck!
(I know what you mean about BBT charting. I accidentally got a thermometer that beeps every four seconds! It's a pain to take my temp because I normally wake up earlier than DH and it's so loud! Wink)

Hi There,

I use the strips from this site and in the past it has been a faint second line for weeks and when ovulation happens, the line goes darker. Currently my husband and I have just started TTC and I am getting no second line at all, just my luck. My periods are also very irregular, I have not gotten a period since August 26 09 and I am pretty sure I am not pregnant since we just started TTC this month..so frustrating...baby dust everyone's way!! Hopefully we will all start ovulating soon! I am realy hoping that when I test today there will be a bit of a change. I have been having some cramping and feeling ovary pain but nothing happens.

Hi Nicole:
Sorry to hear about your frustrations. Are you "holding it" a good long time before testing? I'm sure you probably are and know all about it since you used them before. But once I tested after only two hours and saw next to nothing (after a day with a faint line) but then on the same day I waited *four* hours and I could clearly see the line. Anyway, good luck to you and i hope you start seeing a line soon!
