Hi I would like to join your group. I'm 42, 43 in May and have been TTC since September. I had an early miscarriage in feb 2011. I have children my oldest is 20 and my youngest is 2. I desperately want to have another. I have a specialist appointment on April 14th so I guess we will see. I did my bloodwork this cycle on day 3 and supposedly all is good. I also bought the fertility monitor so hopefully this will help. Im looking forward to learning more about your TTC journeys Smile

So I had my appt and the ob isn't willing to do any testing unless I commit to at least an IUI. I don't know what to do. Any advise?

I am 41 years old and will be 42 at the end of the year. I had my first child at age 37. My husband and I have been TTC since December 2009. I have been praying to conceive naturally as I have friends in their 40's who were able to conceive without intervention. My OB gave me a prescription for Clomid in August of last year. I did not decide to take it until this week. After have terrible stomach cramps, I went online to see what other people experienced with this drug. A friend told me about this site and so here I am. The comments and experiences of other women TTC has been comforting. My husband and I are praying for a miracle this month!

I am 47 yr old mom sort of TTC. Have DS 15, DD 14, DD2. So it can be done. Had my little one at 45.8 yrs old. Wasn't planning for her, but so happy she came into our lives. Totally natural no specialists. That said, we've been hoping to have another little one and things are a little trickier now - or maybe just feels that way because we're "trying" for first time ever. I was trying to time my ovulation with no luck. Got pregnant October 2010 (not trying), miscarried a little after Thanksgiving.
I got the ovulation tests, but never seem to get a positive - even though I'm still getting periods. Has anyone else had that issue? It doesn't seem possible that every cycle is happening without actual ovulation, but the tests don't seem to be registering any LH surge. Maybe I'm all off on the timing and should be doing them all month long - but I've been fairly regular so it's not making sense. It's a long shot, but we're praying for another healthy baby and believe it can happen! Smile Good luck to everyone!

Hello Ladies... I am 39, will be 40 in December. I hope it's ok if I join a bit early? I am the mother of 2 girls, TTC after the stillbirth of my son this past January. It took me me about six months to conceive all my children, which was stressful enough. Now, not only do I have to worry about when I might conceive but also on whether I will be able to carry this baby to term. My son died due to issues with the placenta- it appears that it did not develop correctly so he was not able to survive beyond 22 weeks. It was a total shock when it happened, both my previous pregnancies were normal and healthy; so we never had any reason to think my 3rd would be any different. It has defintely taught us not to take anything for granted. Trying to take care of myself as much as I can... I found Cara's post extremely helpful... if anyone can share what has worked for them in terms of food/vitamins/supplements it would be of great help! Thank you for reading!

Hi...good luck everyone. My son is 4 1/2 months now. I had him at 43. In addition to my earlier post I would say that you really need to be proactive with everything. Being older means your hormones just arn't up to par so you have to get things going. Diet, supplements, exercise, timing, and relaxation/meditation. Kick the caffeine, refined sugar and fats. Prepare your body for it. Put all of your energy into it and it will happen! Don't just wait and hope....do as much as you can. And remember to relax and enjoy your life...don't make it a huge project which is sometimes hard not to do.

I've been seeing a naturopath and am going to start acupuncture next week. I've been stressing about my age I wish I could just relax. The herbs the naturopath had me taking have helped regulate my cycle. I'm taking vitex and Glucosmart my cycle has gone from 35 days to 31 and my monitor is picking up lh surges (peak ovulation). All of my tests have come back normal I had the afc done and of course my egg supply is diminishing, but as long as I have some I'm hopeful Smile. I'm glad more ladies have joined the group Smile
