Hi All! It's good to have a few fellow TTC'ers in their 20s on here! I have had the same problem with the OPKs. I use the ones from this site. I always follow the directions, too. Sad Now that I started going back to work, I test as soon as I get home (usually around 5:30), after not going to the bathroom since 1. Over the summer I tested at the right time, and I only got a real positive one month! I even took a picture of my positive and emailed it to the site to get it posted I was so excited! Now, I can't seem to get it + again!!

I am currently on CD17. In the past, I have usually O'd by now. On the months when the test stips have not worked, I have felt like I O'd even if I did not get a +. This month I have completely stressed myself out because school started and DH is leaving me for a week (tomorrow Sad:(Sad ), and I have just made myself sick with worry, so I am pretty sure I am going to O late if I do at all. I am still going to use the strips though, just to see if I can get a + this month!

Liz- I also started using fertilaid this month. How do you like it so far? It is a lot of pills to take! Is your husband taking it also? I hope it works for you!

Ok, so I was hoping you all might be able to offer some advice, since you seem so knowledgeable. I feel like my body is going crazy...here's the story (sorry if TMI):
8/4: Normal AF (lasts 4-5 days & begins CD29)
8/18: CD15 Have O symptoms, but do not get a real +OPK
8/23: CD20 Have very light spotting (two drops)
9/2: CD30/1 Have dark brown bleeding for maybe 6 hours, and then a little spotting the next day (very light) (took pregnancy test just to make sure and it was negative)
9/11: CD10 (if you count 9/2 as AF): Started taking Fertilaid and took another pregnancy test (BFN) because I wanted to make sure I wasn't pregnant before starting fertilaid and I was still confused about the 6 hour AF...it's usually 4-5 days
9/18: CD17 (if you count 9/2 as AF): AF begins again...very very painful and pretty heavy

My cycles are usually 29-32 days long, and AF usually lasts 4-5 days.

Any ideas what is going on? I called my doctor on 9/2 to make an appt because she told me to make one if I still wasn't pregnant after 6 months, and the earliest they could get me in is Oct. 12, so I will of course ask her when I go, but I was wondering what you all though.

ncke577, I'm most definitely not an expert. If you had a very heavy, painful AF on potentially CD17, maybe what you saw on CD30 was breakthrough bleeding and not a true period. Therefore your CD17 was really CD47? I don't know, I think you should talk to your doctor earlier than the 12th. If you said you've been very stressed out lately, that could be a cause of a long cycle.

As for me, today is my 3rd (I think) day taking FA. I've been taking 2 in the morning and 1 at night. (I was taking my other prenatal at night.) I felt pretty queasy this afternoon, so I'm going to switch to taking them 1 at a time, 3 times a day like it says and see if that helps. If not, then I'll try all 3 of them at night and see what happens there. Smile On a side note, DH and I tried Pre-Seed for the first time today and LOVED it!

Stress can do so much to a AF! It can throw it all out of wack or not ever even come. I have been having alot of issues with my AF as well. I still havent had mine, im 2 weeks late. I saw the DR and she have me provera to take "if I wanted to" so I didnt really get that, she told me I could still O and then have my AF after. She told me I could wait or just take the provera, so I left there with out even knowing what to do! I dont know if I should take it or just wait for af...

I hate how stress has so much affect on everything!! I also am mad at myself for letting it get to me so much! I need to find something to help me relax. I would like to see a doctor sooner, and they told me that I could call back often to see if there was a cancellation, but I am a teacher, so it is difficult to just call out the same day for a doctor appt, especially this early in the school year! Oh well. Hopefully this cycle will kick everything back to normal!

Liz-sorry the FA is making you sick. Hopefully it will help to take it a few hours apart. That is what I did when I took it. I didn't take it today because I am confused about my cycle, and I kind of want to just wait til I see the doctor to see what she thinks. I think I might just not do anything this month except taking a prenatal, and wait til I see the doctor. I hope it helps with you this month! Pre-seed is great isn't it? Pre also works well.

Natashya- sorry AF still hasn't come! Does Provera just make AF come even if you have not O'd? Does it just make you shed? I'm sorry the doctor wasn't very clear either! They should just tell you what to do! Smile

ncke577, I'm a teacher, too, so I know exactly what you mean about it being hard to call the doctor and especially about missing school this time of year. Starting school could be enough stress to miss your AF.

We haven't used Pre. Is that for DH? We ended up putting a little bit of PreSeed on him and that worked well for us. Thanks for the well wishes with the FA!

Natasha, sorry to hear about your doctor frustrations!

Yeah I guess the provera is just suppose to force a AF and help regulate everything but when I was reading about it alot of people said it didnt help and I just hate taking pills that I dont think I need! I will call tomorrow and see what they say.

I read about the pre and have heard good things about it but for now I am using the pre-seed and its great!

Yeah I wasnt able to take the FA, it just made me way to sick, I am pretty weak when it comes to anything like that lol.

As far as cycles go....from what I read your ovulation depicts your af...so a late ovulation means late af. I have also read that if your body attempts to ovulate, fails, then it will attempt right away again, which in turn throws everything off. The spotting could have been breakthru bleeding if this is normal for you but if not it could also means something else (not sure). I agree with Ivi, I would try to go to the doc a bit sooner if you have never had breakthru bleeding before. I was ready to say implantation bleeding until you said you had a heavier period later with lots of cramping. Is your af usually heavy with lots of cramping?

Love the preseed and the fa. FA is supposed to be taken three times a day, spread out. This is to allow the fa to be absorbed in your body over periods of time, instead of all at once. This might help you if you take one in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening or at night. That way you are allowing three pills to do their job over an expanded period of time. P.S. I have found that if you take them with a cracker or bread, something light, it takes away the quezziness, especially in the beginning when your body is getting use to the medicine.

AFM: cd 14 today. O is supposed to happen this Thursday, which would be cd 17. Wish me luck!

Pre is for DH. We use it on those times when we don't want/need preseed. I don't produce much CM, so it has helped to prevent irritation. It is good for me to have the Pre since I don't have too many applicators for the preseed left.

AF is usually not as bad as it is this time. It was only this bad the time when I had a 43 day cycle, so maybe you all are right about the long cycle. I have never had breakthrough bleeding before and I am pretty sure I ovulated at the regular time in August, so I don't think I ovulated late. I don't know though. It is probably just stress. Hopefully I can relax enough for the next cycle or the doctor can help me on the 12th. It's not too far away. Thank you for the advice though!

I understand about not wanting to take the pill unless you have too. It would be nice if the doctor just told you the best thing to do. I hope they are able to help today!

GL those of you that are getting close to O!!

Natash-Will need your e-mail address to send you a pic of my opks...dont think I can upload them here. Sorry! I got my first + today...so excited but scared as well. I am not sure if I am Oing today or not but I have some pressure in my right side that comes and goes. Usually when I O I get the + opk about 2 days before and I have more pressure in the lower abdomen that either radiates to the right or left. Plus earlier today when I took a opk test it was negative but after feeing the pains I thought I should test again and it was +....the body it does weird things. lol! cd 14 today. Baby dust to you all!
