I am on month 23 also with a M/C in march. DH has decided that this is our month though, I think he is only so determined because he doesnt want to have to pay for IVF. LOL

Hi ladies! I'm so glad there's a group for us now too! I'm on month 20 right now, with a M/C in January '09. We've been trying ever since (and of course before) the miscarriage and still no luck. I always thought I would be pregnant by now, but I'm still not. I am on my 2WW though, so I'm hopeful that I'll get my BFP this time around.

I had testing done in February and everything came back normal. Some of my hormone levels were a bit low and my OB/Gyn put me on Clomid, but I know I ovulate on my own...and even after a month on Clomid I still didn't get pregnant. I probably should have gone back to the doctor after the month on Clomid, but I felt like I shouldn't be on it when I know I ovulate without it. Who wants to take something they don't need? Anyway, my husband also had a SA done and everything was perfect with him (thank God!). So I guess it's just a waiting game for us.

So how old is everyone here if I may ask? I'm 27, I'll be 28 in July. My husband is 29, he will be 30 in September. This will be our first child, although we have a 5 year old Boston Terrier, Molly, who we treat as our baby for now. Smile We've been married for over 3 years now, and we've been together for over 7 years. My husband is most definitely my best friend and he's been SO sweet during these hard months of TTC.

I would love to hear all of your stories!

Hi Jenny, so sorry to hear about your m/c. It sounds like you have a really positive attitude on the whole TTC thing, as draining and hard as it is. I'm 34, DH is 33, and we've been together 11 years, married almost 7. Crazy how time flies!! We're on cycle 19. I'm pretty ready to give up, but DH is not yet... luckily it has been a good learning experience for me personally, and has brought us closer together (although some days it doesn't feel like that). So it's in God's hands, as everything in life truly is...
It's amazing how many of us long-term no luck TTCers there are out there! Truly the miracle of life is just that. I know that some day we'll know why we had to wait so long.

Welcome Jenny_Rebecca! I would definitely suggest going back to see your doctor about the Clomid. I don't think it's entirely about making you ovulate, but it also increases the strength of your ovulation and regulates your hormones. Can't hurt to keep giving it a try for a little while, right? Unless, of course, the side-affects bother you too much. I've been through a miscarriage as well, last summer, so I understand your frustration, and I'm also in the 2WW again but with the aide of Clomid. Smile Hopefully we both get our BFPs again soon!

Hey guys!! I feel like I've been lurking around this site for forever now...I'm on month 18 TTC. I've been on this site since October, and feel like I've gotten some great advice. I'm getting ready to go back to my OBGYN to request some testing. I've kept going this long, just KNOWING it was going to happen naturally, but I'm starting to see that might not be the case. Anyone have experience they can share with me on the beginning stages of fertility testing????

When I met with my OBGYN, the first thing he did was run a blood test on me to check my thyroid hormone and my prolactin hormone. He also ordered an SA for DH. He said that if everything came back ok, he would prescribe Clomid. (Unfortunately, DH's test came back a little low, and he referred us to a RE).

We have our meeting today, with the RE to discuss the results of ALLL of the tests he ran (and, I am SOOO nervous!!!!). He did an ultrasound...he took about 10 viles of blood for me, to check for, what seems....everything under the sun! He also ran another SA, and some blood tests on him. Then I went back in, and he did an HSG (to make sure that my tubes were open, which, thankfully, they are!). All in all, I think we will be getting a LOT of information....but I am still so nervous of what he might say!

Calling and making the appointment, although I was heartbroken, gave me courage, because I knew that we were moving in the right direction. Good luck with everything!!! Keep us posted, and ask any questions that you want to. I think experience speaks pretty loudly sometimes, and it is nice to have these ladies to lean on!! Thinking of you today!!

Megan, can't wait to hear how your appointment goes!!

Jessi, hopefully you will have a good receptive doctor who will listen to you and ask a lot of questions... write down your questions if that would also help you feel more organized. If you've been tracking your cycles and ovulation, bring that with you so the doctor can see. The first time I went in for fertility apt, they did a pelvic exam, and ran some blood tests... ordered a SA for DH too. Then I had a HSG, and now am doing more hormone testing. I think it will vary by doctor, but hopefully you can start someplace and have some direction! The first step is making the call...good luck! Smile

Jessi.........My RE mostly just asked me a LOT of questions about family history, what my cycles are like, and that kind of thing. She also ordered blood tests, and SA for DH, and gave me the info on getting an HSG test done when I could. She was very proactive and got me a prescription for Clomid pretty quickly, as well as referring me to a dietcian because I'm fairly overweight. More than anything I would say be prepared to ask (and be asked) a lot of questions.
