Hi everyone! I'm really happy to have a place to share our experiences, because like some of you have said, it seems like I'm surrounded by an incredibly fertile group. I struggle with that because I really am happy for them, but I feel frustrated and unsupported since my situation is very different from theirs.

So...here's my deal. I'll be 35 in a couple months. My husband and I have been trying for our first for about 8 months. We started trying right after getting married because I knew I would have problems. I don't get my period very often, maybe 3 times a year without any kind of regularity. I was diagnosed with PCOS, many years ago. My OB-GYN told me that they designate everyone with irregular periods as PCOS. That didn't exactly increase my confidence in that diagnosis. I've never had cysts, to my knowledge.

I've been charting my BBT and taking daily OPK, but have not once had a surge in LH. I got two rapid-fire periods two weeks apart in Jan and was hopeful that I was regulating because I cycled in Feb and March (34 and 36 days) but have had nothing since. I took Provera for the first time to induce a period at the first of Aug. At the same time, I started up acupuncture again, coupled with taking fertility herbs. I had done acupuncture earlier in the year for about 3 months and took a break because I felt really discouraged and needed to regroup. However, I do feel that, at the very least, it helps with relaxation and the herbs seem to keep my BBT at a higher level. My temps without herbs tend to be in the 94's. Now they are more in the 96s. I'm in wait-n-see mode, trying not to stress too much. I'm supposed to do another course of Provera if I don't see AF for another 3 months.

Whew, that was a lot of info. Treegap--on the topic of OPKs, I've been timing mine in the afternoon after limiting my liquid intake for a few hours. I've found that my LH levels were always high in the morning, so then I read that it's more accurate to do it in the afternoon since the a.m. reading shows a build up from overnight. I'm wondering about that too though, since I've never had a positive result. Then again, that could very well be the case. I've been doing those for about 3 months.

I have no fertility coverage..how about you guys? We've decided that we're willing to pay out of pocket for tests and a consult if necessary. If it's a relatively easy fix (i.e. Clomid) then we're inclined to go that route but I'm not willing to do IVF. We planned to give it another 3 months with natural methods (herbs, acupuncture) then get the blood tests, but I ran into a friend who went through this many years ago and she said that if she could do it over, she'd have just done the tests right away to reduce the stress of not knowing. What do you all think about that?

Thanks for reading and best of luck to all of you!

Hi Ladies...so my daily update is, I think I "O"'d sometime this morning, because my CM has changed, we DTD the night before and on the 19, 21 & 22nd, so fingers crossed for a BFP in a couple weeks. Smile Might try again tonite, but since my CM is totally done I think we might now, we'll see. Hope everyone else is having good luck.

Jdetamore: IMO, I would just get the tests done. I know I have NO patience to wait or wonder or whatnot and I worry about EVERY little thing, even waiting for the next couple weeks is killin' me. I'm the one who uses a pregnancy test as early as she possibly can to just get the answer sooner. But thats just me... Smile

Hi everyone.. I have read most of the posts and tried to get caught up.. Heres my story
I am 21 my husband is 23 we have been married for 3 years and started ttc 2 years ago this month.. I tried counting like one DR suggested but that did not work. I just recently bought the BBT and some OPK's I hope that I will have better luck with these.. My mother had endometriosis and she is very worried that I may have it aswell... I on the other had am afraid it will have something to do with my husband.. We plan to get him tested asap... The reason I feel this was is because regretably I had an abortion when I was 15.. I am very scared that caused something to make it so i cant have children now but i have been assured by many DR that it should not have... I beat my self up about it all the time because I worry that that was my only chance to have a baby of my own and I messed up. I was scared and the daddy did not want anything to do with the baby so I was not sure if i could do it alone at such a young age but now i wish i would have.. Being so young and haveing been trying for so long I am starting to get very discouraged... After my husbands tests if he is ok then I am going to a specialist to get surgery to see if I have endometriosis... I am nervous about that operation... I am nervous to start BBT because i toss and turn in the morning and my mom told me to be as still as possible and sometimes i get up and go to the bathroom and go back to bed I am not sure how well i will do with it.. I try not to stress to much but i am very emotional and I cry when i hear someone got pregnant or if i see it on tv... And given that I am trying so hard i dont understand why it happened so easy when i was younger.. The worst part is is that every month i watch for any kind of sign and i get my hopes up so much and then they get torn down at the end of the month.. I have very regular cycles and i'm glad for that because it would get my hopes up more if i thought i was late... then I make the mistake of watching that show I didn't know i was pregnant lol and I just wish yea know..

sorry my story was so long

Treegap-- i wish i could give you tips or advice but i am new on here I dont even know what half the lingo means like pcos and stuff.. All I can say is dont give up hope I know what its like to start getting discouraged and like somone told me try to take it day by day so that your stress doesn't snowball..

I am wishing you all luck .. And I hope i can help more after i learn more...

Welcome jdetamore and Mrs.Vining!

Cagegurl, I got married last October, so it's a little over 10 months! We're looking forward to our anniversary but I can't believe it's already been almost a year!

Aurora-s Momma, what a cutie you have in the pic! You seem to know your body and your cycle really well! I'm aiming to get more in touch with my own situation because I feel like the ambiguity of things kills me! I'm on the BBT wagon and trying to establish a routine for taking it first thing!

Mrs.Vining, thanks for sharing your story. I think taking things day by day is important, as you mentioned. I know it's hard, but try not to beat yourself up about your past too much. You can only move forward and it sounds like you are now ready to be a parent and I believe this will happen for all of us!

jdetamore, it sounds like we are around the same age (I'm 34) so it's nice to be in a similar situation with ttc #1 at this age (and being surrounded by fertile friends!). I know that opinions differ about age, etc., but my mother had me when she was 27 and has been hounding me about getting pregnant since I was in my early 20's. I was a late bloomer with regard to starting a family and don't regret my life before this one bit, but do sometimes feel the clock ticking and get stressed. As for the OPK's, I think I'm going to try doing them in the afternoon, as you do. I'm in the same boat as you with regard to fertility coverage. I would do Clomid, but I don't think we are willing to do IVF. I am also really curious to hear more about acupuncture and the herbs! I was considering either or both after reading some posts on this forum.

I want to reiterate how nice it is to have this support system. It is good to know others share my feelings when around our fertile friends and acquaintances. I also work as a middle school teacher so I'm surrounded by kids all day! I actually find, though, that this only furthers my resolve and faith that this will happen one way or another and I look forward to the day when we all have BFPs and we can celebrate!

Hi New to the group!

I am 34 years old and were trying to conceive our 3 baby after recently having my tubes untied (like 4's ago) I have been waiting for that day for 4 years soooo I am ready to go.

Just wanted to say!

Has anyone gotten pregnant after a tubal reversal or know anything about it?

I have to lose some weight before I ttc but I am getting started now with vitamins, affirmations and books.

LOL this is not my first go around on the infertility ride.

4 years to get pregnant with daughter now 9
3 years to get pregnant with daughter now 4
