Hi ladies! Retrieval went well. We got 15 eggs. I was under light sedation, and didn't feel a thing. It sure didn't take long. I was awake again before I knew it. The nurses were so nice. The one that was with me when I woke up is a former patient. She said she has a 3 and 1 yr old and the 1st was a PREG baby (PREG is the name of the clinic). They will let me know tomorrow how many fertilize. Then sometime the IVF coordinator will call to let us know when transfer will be. So the next phase of the waiting game begins.....

Woohoo! Got the fertilization report today! Out of the 15, 11 were mature, and they did ICSI and 10 fertilized. They think based on my age and the fact that we have 10, that transfer will be on Tues. They scheduled transfer for Tues at 10:30. I'm so excited! The next few days will probably go by reeaally slowly!

I had my 1st progesterone shot this morning. The nurse at work that gave it to me is planning on doing IVF in the near future and has the same dr, and she was very excited for me.

Thank you for sharing your story, Rosiesmom, I'm probably going to go ahead with IVF in May, and I've heard horror stories about the pain of retrieval, so it's a relief to hear that you had a good experience!

I can't wait to see you post your bfp, only 2 weeks to go! How many are you transferring?

Rabbitbaby, I'm glad I was able to relieve your fears. I think as long as they sedate, you won't feel anything. Really, the whole IVF cycle wasn't as bad as I was expecting. The.only side effects I had were bloating and sore ovaries, which is to be expected. My worst complaint was having to get up early for all the early morning appts! Oh, and also now the Progesterone shots. I'm gonna have a very sore bum by the time I'm done with them.

We're transferring 1. In a couple years I want to go back and transfer 2, since.I want 3 kids. But for.now 1 is all we can handle. If.we had twins we would need a bigger house and car!

The clinic.gave us a packet of.papers after retrieval with pictures of what the embies should look like each day as they go.through tje different stages. Today, day 2, they should be divided into 2-4 cells. I showed this to DH tonight. He said, "They look like 2 fried eggs!"

I got a call this am from the embryologist with an update. We are still on track for retrieval on Tues. 2 of the embies aren't doing as well, but the other 8 are still perfect!
