Hi everyone!

I'm very confused and need help! My husband and I are trying to conceive for the first time. We are in or mid and late 30's. I've been on the pill for over 10 years and stopped on 8/9. When does ovulation occur to get pregnant? The internet says for a 28-30 day cycle it happens half way through so on day 14-15. I've tried ovulation calendars online and so that would mean I should be ovulating now, but when I take an ovulation test it says I'm not (I've taken the test 2days In a row now). The instructions on the ovulation kit say that for a 28-30 day cycle ovulation happens on days 8-10. How is there such a discrepancy? So what's the right answer? When does ovulation occur? Please help!! Thanks!!
