Okay so I have had 5 days of positive OPK's in a row. Has anyone else had this? I decided this month to test after I got my first positive OPk to see when it stopped. So anyway I am on day 5 Positive OPKs. Is this normal? I know I was reading on how doctors hate the OPks because they are so inaccurate. But Now I am confused beyond belief. I mean do i keep Bding every night until I get a nagative or should I switch to every other night? I know its not a bad batch of OPKs because I have two brand and they are the same results. Also before I got the positive they were negative.

Is the positive line actually darker than the control line?

Mine were about the same color for 2 days, then a darker line than control for 2 days, then another 2 days that looked like they were the same color again.

Hi Steph,

The test line was so much darker then control line for the first 3 days, and then the next two days it was still darker, just not as dark. But before the really dark ones i got a couple the same color. I guess its a wait and see game now. crossing fingers. Wink

Hi angel Twins,
I got a BFP this cycle so maybe there is something to the several positive OPKS. Good luck and baby dust to you. Big smile

Sweetmel6, what was your bd schedule like with all of these + opks? I usually stopped testing after the first + opk, b/c the website here says that you will ov 24-36hrs after the 1st day of + opk, and I was pretty regular anyway. But this month, I had a m/c, so I am not sure if my hormones are in check, so I'm testing after what I think is the 1st +. The line is also a bit funny; the control line is a solid bar, but the test line is really dark on the one half and lighter on the half closer to the control line. Do you have the ones from this site?

I Bded everyday for the positives. I stopped testing after 5 positive ones. So after the fifth day we just continued to have fun every other day. Also this month we used preseed all during Positive OPK time and after.
I used the clear blue and easy digital tests for ovulation and the first response ovulation strips with the lines.

I am 36, DH 41, trying for 1 month - obviously not concerned yet. My questions are as follows:

1. What brand of OPK do people recommend? I used the target brand and got negatives - I used days 9-20 of avg 29 day cycle.

2. Is it normal to get negative when trying to figure this stuff out. I did test first thing in the AM and was fairly consistent with the time.

3. Is it possible I am not ovulating? I have a regular period. And was told 6 months ago that my 3 day FSH tests were all within normal ranges.

Hey Stella,

I use the OPK's off this site and have no problem with them. When my positive finally shows up (CD 25 this month) it is pretty obvious.

It's possible you are not ovulating on a regular cycle but I highly doubt it Smile You are not supposed to use OPK's in the morning so I wouldn't be surprised if that's why you are missing your surge. The LH surge "usually" starts in the morning and wouldn't build up enough to enter your urine until late morning/early afternoon. It might not last a full 24hours so if you are testing first thing you could be missing it. Try testing in the afternoon. And diluted urine can also cause a neg test.

Good luck!

I agree w/Caitie, I use the ones from this site, no problem, but I always test in the afternoon, around 2pm. And if you find you don't have the egg white stuff, buy preseed!

Good luck!
