Yay zebra, that's great!! Congrats on going back to school!! I just finished my masters last June, and with the exception of the loans, it was so worth it! Mine was very basic, so it didn't expand my career field or anything. Good luck!!

AFM, not much going on here. Clothes are starting to not fit, and the rubberband trick is getting old, so someone suggested the belly band. I think I may try one and see how it works. I have an appointment next week and hope to get to hear the heartbeat. Off to bed for me! Everyone have a wonderful weekend!! Big smile

Thanks so much Zebra and Lauren. Interesting weekend, we had lightening strike our well pump so no water for 2 days. That was not fun. The corner DQ and Walgreens were quite sick of us LOLOLOL. Never a dull moment in our house. My mother gets "mapped" out this week for the dialysis stents to be placed in her arm. It is such a draining event for me I can only imagine what she is struggling with daily.

I am excited for you Zebra for your masters. I wish I could do that, but for now school is not a path I can handle. You picked an extraordinary career. It takes a talented, patient person to teach children.

AFM still feeling good. No morning sickness yet...yeah!! Hoping it stays away. I have not made my appointment with regular OBGYN yet, but my dr who did the reversal did an ultrasound to make sure everything was in the correct place and not in my tubes. And all looked well. Of course all we could see what a tiny black spot about like a bean shape.

Well I have a long week planned with my mother so I may not be able to update for a while. Take care ladies wishing everyone the best

Gina

Hey everyone. Glad to hear things are going well for everyone. I haven't tried bbt yet. I want to give it a little time to see if my periods are back on track now or not. I've been asking a few girls at work about getting pregnant and wanted to run this pass you all and see what you're input on this was. I have been told that when you are trying to get pregnant you should have sex no more or less than every other day. If you have it more than every other day it doesn't give sperm the time it needs to build up and basically he's just shooting "blanks" If you don't have sex every other day the sperm "dies" and again is shooting "blanks". I was even told that if you don't have sex every other day that he should ejaculate himself just to make sure the sperm is "correct" Has anyone herd of this before?

Hey woodcricket, nice to see you again!! More or less your friends are right- you want DH to have time for his boys to build up, but not die, so the general rule of thumb is every other day. It takes something like 70-something days for the sperm to mature, but they still have to accumulate. It's not going to hurt if you skip a day or anything, but you do need to try to stay within the range. Kinda stinks, it's like you're planning it, which takes the fun out of the spur-of-the-moment bd'ing, but hey, you do what you've gotta do, right? Happy bd'ing!!

Good Morning,

I have heard it both ways. BDind every other day to build up. But also my dr had said if the sperm was healthy that everyday was fine. So I guess it would depend on each persons situation and what their dr would recommend.

ASF still feeling good. I had morning sickeness right away with my other pregnancies, but none with this one yet. So I am hoping it stays away. Has anyone else had any sickness and what week if you did?

Well take care ladies...have a wonderul rest of the week

Gina

What we were told by our urologist when dh went in for testing was this: your best chances of getting pregnant are if you have sex every other day. His reasons were this:
The male makes sperm constantly - all day, every day. As they mature, they make their journey to their "end destination" (sorry, trying to not be too literal here Wink ). Anyway, they can survive inside the male for as much as 3 months before they die off. It is true that each day some die inside of him, but for all the ones that die, others move down the "tube" to take their place. So, waiting too long should not be a factor on his end. It is true that if you have sex two days in a row, he hasn't had as much time to "fill up" (for lack of a better phrase) so the number of sperm may be lower. But, unless your has a really low sperm count or no sperm at all, it is virtually impossible for him to shoot blanks. He may have a higher or lower number of sperm, depending on how many days pass between sex, but that's about it. Once the sperm are inside the female they can last up to 72 hours (that's another reason why every other day is a good idea - that way you're pretty much sure to have a little guy there when you ovulate).

It's a little complicated, and I'm not a dr, so I can't say for sure, just relaying what our dr told us when dh had his sperm analysis done. but basically, our dr said every other day. But no, the sperm don't die that quickly while inside his body (normally) and they have the potential to survive 72 hours inside of you (if they are healthy).

Hope this helps and good luck! Smile
