I am going to start my own blog, something I probably should have done when I was TTC here my first go-around. Anyway, COMMENTS ARE WELCOME Smile

I suppose I should go all the way back to the beginning of my story & my TTC trials with my DS... I am currently on a countdown to ttc baby #2- not offically ttc yet. ( I will get to my first ttc stuff in another post later)
I have stayed on here with my buddy group- some ladies are still ttc- I have liked this community from the first time I showed up, and as I posted in my first entry on my buddy group, I am happy to have this place as an outlet because this whole process is VERY emotional!!

Quick stats-
I am now 29, quickly nearing 30 ( I will be 30 while ttc #2) I am currently a stay at home mom to my little boy.
DH is now 35, nearing 36 (will be 36 while ttc#2)
We have one lovely DS who is about to be ONE! Smile He will be 16 months before we offically start ttc, so he would be at 2 years old if we concieved right away...
It took 9 months ttc to have him- delivered at 36 weeks (more on that later)

SO that's the start I guess... I will have lots more to post I am sure, but had to start somewhere Smile
(oh, and since this is a global forum, I suppose I should mention I am in the USA)

I am copy & pasting this from when I got my BFP with DS...
1. Your age: 28
2. Number of TTC cycles it took to become pregnant: 8 of "true" ttc, but really 9.
3. Number of DPO (days past ovulation) before getting your BFP(big fat positive): This is a tough one to answer... I don't BBT chart, I was using opk's and this cycle had switched brands. I didn't even know IF I had ovulated, so I just went based on my past positive opk dates (CD 14 or 15) and based on my educated guess, I'd say I was 11 or 12 dpo w/a faint positive, then three days prior to AF I got a "pregnant" result on a digital test (and about 6 tests since then, LOL)
4. Anything done differently during your BFP cycle (products, baby dance schedule....etc): Actually YES. Soft cups was my first go this month.... plus I increased the "dose" of preseed that I was using. DH and I had a 10 day BD marathon from before predicted O till pretty far after. I don't know what the winning factor was, but I'm sure the extra preseed and softcups and lots of BD-ing helped! (I had also switched off of fertilaid, which I had been taking for months and switched to something called "fertility blend" instead)
5. BBT chart: Not for me... this is one thing I did not do... I always wake up at different times, so to get an accurate reading would be hard....
6. Any other TTC tid-bits or advice: I wish I had something wise to say, but I don't. I am still in shock that my little miracle is on the way... I guess the best advice, don't give up. Keep on with the Bd'ing and trying new things.

Oh I am so excited that you are nearly ready to TTC again! My DD is 16 months at the moment and it is such an awesome age. She is just hilarious.

Do you think you will do the same things while TTC this time? With DD it took a year to get pregnant but for a lot of that time I had no idea about timing etc was just aiming to BD around the 14 day mark, little did I know that I pretty much NEVER O around that day at all haha! So with this pregnancy I charted and it only took 2 months (I was kind of expecting it to take way longer so was so freaking shocked!)

Now I am just hoping that I will be able to manage to wrangle DD who is a super active little lady and a newborn - eek!

Smile kiwi- I'm sure you'll manage just fine with the babies... easier said than done I'm sure. However, I do think an awesome baby carrier/sling is way important with 2, so you can wear the baby while chasing the active little lady! Thanks for commenting Smile

Good question- yes, actually I do think I will do the same things while ttc again. I plan to use opk's & probably use preseed. I also know i won't bbt- at least not at first. If it starts taking a long time/many cycles I might. DS gets up at different times everyday & I just can't picture getting my temping right. I will probably resume taking the fertility blend pills & a prenantal vitamin (which I just stopped taking, as I just stopped nursing DS) I also plan to get in some serious BD sessions, lol, spanning before/during/after my ovulation day.
I am fully expecting ttc to take at least 6 months. Of course I am hoping for the best & want to get a bfp right away, but statistcally that's just not realistic.
I just hope it's not years away!

I bet you'll get preggers in the first month CC, lol wouldn't that be crazy!! I used preseed too, I swear that's the reason we got pregnant, it was the first time we used it and I conceived! I also drank fertilitea and took some sort of mega vitamin thingy that helped with regulating cycles..mecca or something like that! What are you doing for your little ones first b-day?

Thanks Alisha, haha, I can only wish. It'll never happen like that tho! Tongue I agree the preseed definately has something to do with helping! I recommended to a friend who had been trying 6 months & first month she used it- YEP! BABY! Idk if that was coincidence or not, but it seems that more likely the preseed helps. I mean, certainly isn't hurting anything Wink

Now for more of my story ( I will be collecting my old posts & sticking them here & adding info as I go forward)
My sweet James Louis was born November 14, 2011 at 36 weeks gestation. My water broke in bed in the early hours of the morning on November 13. I had gotten up to pee & about 45 minutes later felt a wierd sensation & sat up like a shot in bed & a warm gush of fluid came out. I immediately woke my DH who told me I had probably just "pee-d myself & to go back to sleep" LOL. WEll, we debated for a few minutes, then I called the oncall midwife at the hospital & they said come on down that they would check and see if it was aminotic fluid.
So, down to the hospital we went, with nothing becuase I was sure it couldn't be happening yet... well, they did that paper test of the fluid & sure enough it was! My water broke at exactly 36 weeks. (DH & I didn't have intercourse prior for about two weeks at least)
Anyhow, I had to stay at the hospital & "wait & see" what happened. Well, the hours started ticking by & nothing was going on so they talked me into getting Misoprostol to "ripen" my cervix because I was barely dialted 1cm & I had a 24 hr widow to deliver before they forced c-section on me. That sped things up to 4cm & caused crazy painful contrations. I tried holding out on the pain becuase I was scared of the epidural ( I had read some crazy scary side effects that can happen, plus i hate needles) I tried walking, taking a shower, bouncing on a "birthing ball" which is really just a yoga ball... nothing was happening & I was in a horrendous amount of pain. SO after several hours of that, I gave up my fear & signed the consent to get the epidural becuase at that point I stalled at 4cm for over 6 hrs & if I didn't progress anymore I would have ended up with an epidural anyways becuase I would have gotten a c-section... SO, I get the epidural late night on Nov 13th- around 11:30PM or someting near that time. I shot from 4cm to 10cm fast- the midwife told me to let the baby "labour down" and not start pushing for as long as possible, becuase I had worn myself out prior with all the contractions. So finally, when I couldn't stand the immense pressure anymore, the nurse called the midwife back in & it only took me 15 minutes to push & out he came! (James Louis, 6lbs, 14oz & 19.5inches long...3:27 am) I only got to hold him for a minute (maybe?) the NICU team was there, to check him out. He didn't cry much & was grunting so they had to give him oxygen in the room- well- he ended up going to the NICU & ended up intubated with a bunch of other help- he had to get an umbillical artery line put in, plus he got IV nutrition to start, then a NG tube for feeds.
this is what I posted on my preggo pals group:
"It's been a crazy week since my water broke on Sunday.... it's been a rollercoaster ride for me emotionally, as my sister was also diagnosed with lymphoma this week too" (*turns out the Dr's were wrong, & she didn't have it, thankfully, but wow that was stressful then*)
"Sweet little James is doing great! He is getting better day by day and isn't having any set backs at all, which is great. I thank you all for your well wishes and prayers- he is doing sooo good!! We're hoping he will be off the oxygen in a day or two, and then start feeds without the ng tube- but tiny little steps in the right direction- he started out by being intubated- so he's made great strides in just a short amount of time. I spend all day with him, and am pumping all day & night to try to get my milk up becuase they are upping his feed amounts. In other great news he is already back to 1oz shy of his birth weight (6lbs, 14oz) and he's just wonderful. I only got to hold him for one hour "kangroo" style after they took out his umbillial artery line yesterday- sweetest hour ever! I can't wait to hold him again! The rest of the time he stays in his isolet, but they let me help do diaper changes, and most of the day I just stare at him in amazement, and hold his little hand. "

So- wow, that was long. I wish I wrote out the story sooner. I'd probably have had more details. It feels so long ago already- it's only been a year... crazy how quickly time passes & what changes! Smile

Oh- Alisha- for his B-day we're just doing a little party with friends & family. I am only serving snack foods & we put on the inviations that presents weren't needed, only peoples PRESENCE at his party. We will do cake & that'll be that.
I am making a photo timeline banner for a decoration... one photo to represent each month- starting with a newborn pic... it was a cute idea I saw on pintrest or something & I liked it so I am making it Smile

That's a cute decoration idea CC! We also said no gifts, asked for a donation to a children's charity, however, that didn't stop people from bringing gifts lol!

That's such a crazy story, I'm so glad everything turned out ok. Did he have the breathing and feeding issues because he was a bit early?

Wink Thanks!

Yes, he had breathing issues becuase he was early. They said his lungs just weren't ready. He needed to get intubated so they could get him surfactant to help his lungs open & breathing. He was only intubated for about 36 hours- then he went on nasal canula (the little prong things in his nose) for extra oxygen until he could be on room air and maintain all his stats.
His eating was delayed becuase of intubation- and even then, becuase of his ubmillical artery line, he couldn't be taken out of his bed much & certainly not for breastfeeding. We didn't get to try that until day 7 I think it was. He spent a total of 9 days there. We got to take him home the day before Thanksgiving (USA).
He's been pretty much fine since then. He hasn't been sick. He only had eczema a little, but that has mostly cleared.
I breastfed him until around 10 months, then he got 6 teeth & I couldn't stand the sensation on my boobs, so I weaned and at his 11 mon bday he had his last nursing session ( I had kept his pre-bedtime nursing session from 10-11 months). He takes bottles like a pro now, which is a lot, becuase he was exclusively breastfed & gave me troubles for a few days trying different bottles till he took one. I feel pretty good about how long I was able to breastfeed for considering the shaky start & him not latching & needing to use a nipple shield for several months.

I wanted to add about my pregnancy that my weight went up, quickly & really shamefully high. I gained wayyyy too much. I also had what my midwife called 'borderline' blood pressure issues. My blood pressure ran on average 134/83
I was also diagnosed with placenta previa at 16 weeks, but it had cleared by 28weeks ( I think that was)
Crazy that this just happened last year and some of the details are starting to fade away. Makes me sad a little, but also excited to start a new journey with a new pregnancy.
Oh- also, the midwife advised waiting a minimum of 12 months before concieving again, so my body could "reset"- since I delivered early, they recommended waiting closer to 18 months. I am not sure how much risk I am at for early delivery again. My midwife couldn't tell me. She looked at the sac & all the afterbirth 'stuff' to see if she could find anyhting- she said that the tear happened "up high" away from the cervix & a lot of the time they have no clue as to what made it happen (& of course this is my case) So I have unknown risk factor for another early delivery according to them.
One of the NICU Dr's told me something that stuck with me, becuase I was fairly emotionally distraught about him being early & sick in the NICU- "I think of it as these babies come out early becuase something isn't right on the inside. They need help & they 'escape' so they can get the help they need to live thier life" ( this of couse is not word for word what she said) For some reason that helped me & James really is just fine.
Her comment just re-entered my mind, as my neighbour was just telling me her friend had a stillborn at 38weeks Sad I would take 10 more babies needing help in the NICU over a stillbirth. My heart truly goes out to all those who miscarried and all those who gave birth to 'sleeping' babies Sad I cannot imagine. *This has all crept up- as Oct 15 was pregnancy & infant loss awareness* Hugs & prayers for all the mommies & angel babies (& daddies too!)

wow I'm glad your little one is healthy now! I think it's kind of crazy that my dd was born at 32 weeks and didn't need oxygen or anything like that, we had friends that had a boy at 34 weeks and he needed oxygen for a long time. Just goes to show you that every pregnancy and baby is different! As for the memories fading I totally have that too! Ella was 4lbs 10 0z at birth and I can't even remember her being that small! I hold a baby now that's 7 or 8 lbs and they seem so tiny! CC we are really blessed to now have happy and healthy babies!

Thank you, yes I feel truly blessed to have this wonderful little baby in my life Love Even tho he's not so little anymore.
The interesting thing is there was a 28week girl there with him, no oxygen- just a feeding tube (& of course in a warmer) One of the nurses told me girls typically do better with thier lungs than boys. Interesting. Who knows how true that is... but from lots of people I've talked to it seems anyways that it could be sorta true.

SO, after having James I did breastfeed- which I had hoped would keep my "dear" AF away, lol. After 5 weeks of postpartum bleeding, I had one month then BAM- AF came back.... sigh. I guess the upside to that is I know my body has returned to a normal 29ish day cycle. Interesting change since giving birth- around ovulation, I get a crazy TON of ewcm. Never had that before.
Other changes- I lost nearly 80lbs...most of which was pregnancy weight gain. I also can now feel ovulation I think more than before. Last night I was having pressure & some af type cramping but only on my left side. I wanted to note this so I can compare next month.
Today I found old opks- couldn't resist the temptation to poas- ( I am CD16 today) sure enough, mostly positive- which means I most likely had my LH surge yesterday on CD 15 which was what was happening before. I would get a positive opk on CD 14 or 15. I think once on CD16, but all around that time frame
The opk's say they expire next month, so I'm gonna use them up. Might as well, right? LOL. Tongue
