Hi I am 48yrs old, I have 2 adult children and 4 grandkids, had a tubal ligation after my 2nd child she is now 26yrs old. 8 yrs ago had a tubal pregnancy and the rt. falopian tube was removed. 5 yrs. ago went to a FE and had the left tube rejoined. During those 5 years have tried no pregnancy, then in March had a chemical miscarriage, which I didn't realize until after. I found out about the early pregnancy tests website so now I and my partner are on the FertileAid, I also have the Fertile Focus and the Fertile Balance Progesterone and using the Pre-seed lubrication. With all that said, I started using the progesterone cream at CD10 then I read that I needed to wait until after I ovulated.. but my Fertile Focus shows that I am in the transitional stage since yesterday 7/25 & 26 - and according to my ovulation calculator I am fertile 7/26 & 27 - and I am very fertile on 7/28 & 29 - and ovulating on 7/30. We have tried the 25th & 26th and again trying tonight. But I didn't do the progesterone cream this morning and I am feeling a little bit crampish in my lower abdomen as if my cycle wants to come on.. should I be worried? or should I go back to using the progesterone cream to be on the safe side. Please help!!

the progesterone cream should be used after you ovulate. cramping is normal for around ovulation. I would cramp up around ovulation every month. Have you tried opk test strips and bbt charting? that can help immensely in pinpointing exactly when you ovulate.

Thank you davina! you just made me one happy woman Smile so cramping is a good sign that I'm about to ovulate. What is opk and bbt? if bbt is basal temp. I started that 2 days ago.
When you say OPK is that a ovulation pack kit? if it is I am using the Fertile Focus and it has shown that I was in the transitional stage. any suggestions you have for me would be helpful.. I appreciate you helping me big time!!

no problem Charlene!

bbt charting(basal temp) you do all month long(from day 1 of your cycle(day 1 of period) all the way until your next period, every morning when you wake up,preferably at the same time. i.e. i took my temp every morning at 7am. i set my alarm for this time and had my thermometer on my night stand so i could stay as accurate as possible. it is important to take your temp as soon as you wake up, not 30 mins later as it is a resting body temp and it will fluctuate and possibly rise after you have woken up and moved around. after you ovulate your basal body temp will rise for atleast 3 days in a row due to the hormone shift that happens post ovulation. this is the only way(other than ultrasound) to know if you have ovulated.

opk test strips are like pregnancy tests only they test for the luetenizing(sp?) hormone. This hormone is released 12-36 hours BEFORE your egg is released. this site has some. unlike pregnancy tests, opk test strips work a little different. 2 lines is not a +. the second line has to be as dark as the control line. if it is not as dark or darker than the control line, it is negative. this site sells them and i know clear blue easy has a digital ovulation predictor test. you use opk test strips starting like 3 or 4 days before you think you are supposd to ovulate. ex- i normally ovulate cycle day 14 or 15. i start using the opk test strips on cycle day 11 thru cycle day 16. I continues post ovulation to make sure they went back to - after i got a +.

the vitamins(fertile aid etc) are great. I also took bromelain after ovulation becuase it is supposed to help make your uterus nice and cushy happy for a baby to implant in. other girls take royal jelly and dhea, but i am not sure what the dosing/timing is for those.

i hope the info helps. i got most of my info from the message boards here and digging online. Good Luck ttc your baby~!

you may want to consider starting a blog in the blog section and asking to join a buddy group in the buddy group section (there is a thread for new members to ask to be placed into groups). i have found both to be very helpful. i have gotten a lot of support and met a bunch of wonderful women on here who have helped thru 2 chemical pregnancies(early miscarry) and my current pregnancy.

Cool, thanks for the tip! but there were some new development on my journey, I started spotting very little on 07/28 - and for 2 days no ferning when I checked my saliva Sad
then today some spotting, only when I pee and then wipe I see it - very light, but alot of cramping in lower abdomen and back! I did check for ovulation and of course zero and my bbt was 97.0 F at 7:00am should I consider it a start of a new period or use progesterone cream to try and bring it down more...

I am not sure on this one. The saliva microscope is dead on when it comes to ferning and ovulation. You may have already ovulated(and maybe missed it) or you may not have ovulated at all.

As far as your temp goes, that is hard to say too. everyones BBT is different. If your temp has not risen for 3 days in a row = no ovulation. My temp always dropped before the dreaded period. But everyone is different.

I have never had spotting post ovulation. some women spot after ovulation due to implantation bleeding, but i never had that either(im not normal).

Unless the bleeding picks up ala true period fashion, in which case you are starting a new cycle(meaning stop progesterone until you ovulate but keep temping), i would use the progesterone, keep temping, keep taking your vitamins and just see what happens. Take notes. That helped me immensely. It may take a few months to see a true pattern. You are also at an age where menopause is supposed to be creeping in (you said you're 48 right?), so I would expect your cycles to be out of whack.

Hang in there.

Hey ladies! I just got a faint HPT positive line today. Do I continue the FertilAid? I know I have to continue testing to make sure my HCG is rising, my BBT this morning was 97.6 as well! Can you guys give me some info on what do I do next?
