UVC Lights

Here is another study that was presented at the most recent annual ASMR (American Society for Reproductive Medicine) conference.

After studying the use of ultraviolet C (UVC) lights in the In-Vitro Fertilization laboratory at Lehigh Valley Hospital, researchers found interesting results that may change many laboratories around the world!

What they found was that the use of ultraviolet lights in the IVF laboratory had a significant impact on the pregnancy rates. In fact, pregnancy rates increased by 18.2% during this study.

Researchers believe that the increased pregnancy rates occur because the UVC energy destroys between 90-99% of the microbial contaminants in the air. This creates a more optimal environment for the embryos to develop.

So…..if you are currently exploring using IVF as part of your fertility plan, you may want to check on the lighting system they will be using in their lab!
