In an article from the American Society For Reproductive Medicine, research shows that more often than not stress does NOT cause infertility. They do admit however that there are some cases where high levels of stress do impact a woman’s hormone levels and in turn their ovulation patterns. There were some studies that also found that stress sometimes cause fallopian tubes to spasm in women, and decreased sperm in men. This study also focused on the impact of fertility issues on a couple’s relationship. As the stress of infertility becomes more evident, the couple’s intimacy is also often impacted. This then becomes a factor in becoming pregnant. So, keep connected with your spouse and surround yourself with a support system that can help you along the way to motherhood!
