FertilizationHave you ever wondered how long it takes between sex and the fertilization of an egg?

Would you believe that it can take about an hour?

Here is the breakdown:

  • It takes the sperm 30 minutes to reach the fallopian tubes.
  • Then another 20 minutes for the sperm to zero in on the preferred egg.
  • The final 20 minutes is all about the alpha sperm breaking through the egg.

After making it through step 1, 2 and 3, fertilization has officially taken place.  It is amazing to think how quickly it all happens!!!
