PCOS Radio Expert Series

PCOS information

September is PCOS Awareness Month!

Doctors believe that many women who struggle with becoming pregnant may in fact be suffering from PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). And although women may have been experiencing symptoms such as weight gain, skin tags, excess hair, hair loss or acne, this medical condition is not usually recognized until they are faced with infertility issues. Being diagnosed with this hormonal and metabolic disorder is often a heartbreaking experience that is followed by many concerns about if pregnancy is even possible.

If you are interested in finding out more about PCOS, this is the perfect time to do so!  In honor of PCOS Awareness Month, there are many exciting seminars, informational meetings and podcasts dedicated to this frustrating medical condition.

One of my favorite PCOS resources can be found at www.pcoschallenge.net.  On this site, you will find a link to a radio program that provides support and valuable information to women who have been diagnosed with PCOS, or who just want to find out more about the topic. It is a series of live interactive broadcasts, each led by a different expert in the field.

The next show will be broadcasted on Wednesday, September 22 at 6:00 EST.  The program title is, Ask the Endocrinologist About PCOS and is presented by Dr Futterweit. Dr. Futterweit is the author of the popular book, A Patient’s Guide to PCOS.

Hopefully after listening to the program, you will feel that a diagnosis of PCOS is not the end of your TTC journey and that you are once again optimistic that you will become pregnant in the near future!
