I have some questions regarding BBT charting. I'm not sure if I totally trust the temp in regards to ovulation nor do I trust OPK. The reason being...I've been charting for 3 cycles now and each time the OPK would tell me the day I was ovulating and the chart would correspond to that. But this cycle my temps have been increasing by one each day for 5 days now but according to OPK I haven't ovulated yet..so I'm not sure whats going on. I know my body good and I feel like I ovulated in the last two days and my CM was pretty evident that yesterday I was fertile, so does anyone have any suggestions? This just makes the journey even more fusterating...could I have ovulated already? Do the temps go up even if you havent ovulated? Or is it possible that the OPK was wrong? Could use some feedback if anyone has any...Thank you!!

Hi, I just wanted to let you know what I have learned in the last few days. Our temps, at least mine, are extremely sensitive to environmental changes. I took my temp when I first woke up after being on top of the covers with the ceiling fan on, and it was 98.2. I thought since I had been taking my temp before when I was under the covers, that it might not be accurate, so I went back to sleep for a half hour under the covers and took it again and it went all the way up to 98.9!! That was just for a half hour under the covers! So from that I learned it is really important to be consistent with the temp of the room and how you sleep to get accurate results.

I work the grave yard shift during the week (and not a constant 40 hour week at that... I usually leave early a few times a week) and I keep a normal schedule for the most part on the weekends, waking up in the morning and going to bed between 11pm - 3am. I've realized that even though my schedule is screwy, taking my temps after at least a 3 hour solid block of sleep, my temp pretty much does what it is supposed to (with the exception of extreme hot or cold in the room, but sometimes that doesn't even seem to make a difference).
My only problem is with this month. My opk test said I ovulated, but my temps never went up afterward... I continued opk testing and 2 days in a row I got only 1 line (well the other was very faint) and then a couple days later I started getting a darker line (about half of the line was as dark as the test line and the other half was faint)... I'm at CD 23 (my cycles are screwy at anywhere from 32 days up to 45 days) and my temps are still at a low 97.0 - 97.7... usually after I ovulate I go up to over 98.0. Does this mean that I'm not ovulating this month? Even when I wasn't charting, I would still take my temp every-so-often and my temps would always go up. This is the first month I have experienced low temps this late into my cycle. what the heck is going on here? I guess I'll have to check with my doctor and do a blood test to see if I ovulated when I go in for my appt. in a couple of weeks - getting my cervix frozen... lucky me... no BD for 3 weeks... absolutely NON-conducive to baby making.
