Miscarriage or Implantation?

If you are a week past ovulation, there is a chance that you may have experienced a little spotting or bleeding.   Many of us immediately start to panic and think that we are experiencing a miscarriage.  But the truth is that the complete opposite may be true!

For those women who experience implantation bleeding, it usually happens 7-10 days after ovulation.  It is a day of reddish/brown spotting or bleeding and is gone as quickly as it starts.  This happens when the embryo attaches itself to the uterine lining of the womb and the placenta tissue starts releasing the pregnancy hormone hCG.  And although it may be alarming at first to see blood in your 2WW (two week wait), know that it is a moment to celebrate!  Chances are that if you run to the store and pick up an early detection pregnancy test, you would see those glorious double lines!

So what if you already had a positive, your period isn't quite due yet but you start bleeding?
