HI Lisa,
Yes, I totally understand!! (no worries on the typing hehe)

Isn't it amazing the moment you get married people are all about the babies!?! Sheesh, step off already. haha! I say the same thing "in time" or "we'll see". Luckily I do live in a community where several people I know don't have kids and it's more commonplace/acceptable to wait so there's less pressure, than say if I lived back in the midwest.
I get raspberry tea from the grocery store, I like the brand 'Traditional Medicine" but I'm sure you can look in the tea isle and hopefully find some... or go to a natural food store and they would probably have it. Actually on the box it says "supports women's health" and I was like "huh! wow whatdayaknow!"...it's also suppose to help with cramping around AF time, but who knows... I'm not pg yet and I should have bought stock in that stuff with as much as I've consumed! LOL. My SIL also swears it helped her with an easy delivery.
I don't think decaf soda/coffee is bad, but you should definitely limit your intake of aspertame (sp?) which is the artificial sweetener in diet soda (or lowfat yogurt, etc)...that stuff is BAD for you. As is the sugar in the regular soda, but just practice moderation and you should be OK.
SWEET POTATOES! are also awesome while TTC (and in general for you). Berries, fruit, bananas (potassium) are all great... do you get enough folic acid? I know that's important... spinach and the broccoli are great too. I think it's just more about making sure you eat less processed foods, more whole grains, & definitely organic diary/meat (if you don't eat any red meat you might be lacking in iron, so you could look for other foods which will give you enough iron)...I don't think any of it's actually proven to increase fertility, but it makes sense to me that creating a healthy you would create a healthy environment for a little one! I will sometimes mix some zucchini in my spaghetti, or puree veggies and put them in something else, stuff a chicken breast with spinach, parm cheese, seasonings, mushrooms, and bake it with some marinara sauce... get creative, but get more veggies! Boy I am sorry I sound like a mother! haha. sorry!! I've even started eating things, like sweet potatoes, that I actually despise (still can't bring myself to eat kale though), just because I know they're good for me! lol.

Also, I know this doesn't hold true for every woman, but a lot of the stuff I've read says that it's actually better to carry around a little extra weight when TTC. Not to be overweight, but be on the higher end of your "normal' BMI range. This of course goes against everything women are told/taught, but if you're really small this might play a part. Of course, I used that excuse to gain a few pounds back in December and now I'm so sick of myself I can hardly stand it...so just a healthy amount perhaps might be good... maybe talk to your doctor or do some research on that. And never use pregnancy as an excuse to eat everything under the sun...cause I think when women do that, that is the weight that is hard to come off after baby is born!

There's a thread someplace on this forum about healthy snacks when TTC, that could give you some ideas too for foods. Or you could look into meeting with a nutritionist! They are a wealth of information.
I'm finding that the more I read about TTC the more I'm learning about overall Health, so I guess that's one good thing about this rollercoaster, even if I never get pregnant I'm sure getting healthier!! ha.
hope that helps!! Smile

Hi TTC Buddies!

I hope everyone is doing well. Yes, I am still concerned for Faithful too.....hope she is doing okay

Sounds like Butterfly99 and LisaK are in the 2ww?? Did I miss anyone? Hang in there, girlies! Crossing my fingers, toes, eyes, arms, legs for you gals!!!! GL!!!

Wow! You guys are eating so healthy! That's great! I think we eat relatively healthy, esp. since we like to cook at home. The only change I made was reducing my coffee intake and taking prenatals. I've also been taking some chinese herbs which are supposed to help my liver and uterus. It did move my ovulation day from CD21 to CD15/16, so I think it's changed things in a positive direction.

LisaK, in regards to your earlier questions, I live in California. I just finished my 2ww and am moving onto the next cycle - Boo, argh! I told the DH I think I have a really angry uterus - She's kickin' ass and takin' names! So we are now considering fertility treatments (we've been TTCing for 13mo).

I love this forum! I've learned so much about TTC and other women in the same situation. It has really been a huge learning experience and place for support. My girlfriends all have children and didn't have any issues getting pregnant so they don't really understand the frustrations and emotions we face on this journey. It's wonderful to be able to talk about it with you all!

Hugs!

Faithful, SO good to hear from you and that you are feeling better.
Go get the book Taking Charge of your Fertility...it should help be a guide to all the confusing aspects of TTC... you can decide what is right for you and DH, but I think having a book will help you with some direction. But it sounds like you have a great attitude now, enjoy making love, enjoy your new home, enjoy your life with DH! Getting pg will happen in God's time and when you're in a good "place".... Best wishes and baby dust to you...keep us posted please and remember we're here when you need us.

Sandy, BOO to yet another cycle. argh!! Has your acupuncturist said much about improvements in your meridian and fertile points? Are you going to a specialist soon? Hang in there. I'm sorry.

Hugs back! Smile

Sandy,

How many acupunture appoints do you need? is it monthly or just every few months? I was just curious. Does it seem to work for you? I went for weight loss last summer but it was just one time and then you follow up a year later for another set of staples in your ear.

Thanks
Shannon

hi girls !

hope all is well i can't forget about you guys NO WAY . haha
you girls are my new family , thanks for caring for me and showing me so much respect and love Smile i know i can sometimes be a little bitchy (excuse my word) but am used to having everything i have in Life and it just makes me upset that i can't control when i will get pregnant (Do you know what i mean?) like if i want something i will go and buy it or ask my DH and he will get it for me But having a baby is not that way , i hope you guys understand me . So that is why its been super difficult to me not having this special bundle of joy that i would love and cherish for the rest of my life . I am just tried of being my sister's shadow everywhere i go they ask me when would i have a baby When When When !!!! it is so annoying to here that all the FRIGGIN time Stare and then i come home and i think about it more and more , i know i shouldn't think about it BUT reality is i would think about it . Last night my DH took me to dinner and i was so happy very excited i love spending time with the love of my life Smile . It so happens that we see our old friends which they been married for 2 year and already have 2 kids!!! pretty fast huh ?

They come up to us and say hi and everything then the conversations of BABY starts OMG!! i said in my head , they honestly ruined my night with my DH asking so much questions and talking about there kids and it just really made me sad and very very uncomfortable . They went back to there table and here i am staring into my hubby's eyes with a sad , depressed unhappy look and it broke my heart that he had that same look in his eyes . Sad He tried to make me laugh saying some funny jokes and remembering the old times when we meet , and he actually put a smile on my face Laughing out loud i love it when he makes the effort to make me happy laugh and enjoy or night today or our day what ever the situation it is he makes it up for me and i am so graceful to have a wonderful HUSBAND so caring and loving .

But my point is you will always see old friend or people you know and they will make you so uncomfortable with there questions!!! have any of you guys been through this ? and how did you handled it ? God Bless everyone!! and i am praying for each and one of you Guys

Smile and nod, faithful, just smile and nod.....zone out, go to your happy place. That's what I do. HAHA! I know that might sound mean, but it's what I need to do sometimes to stay sane when I'm in the middle of a conversation revolving around friends' kids sometimes. It's not that I don't care (ok, maybe I really don't on some level...I don't need to hear about the kid's poopy diaper, or whatever!, yes, kids kind of take up a parent's thought full time, but when talking to friends who don't have kids, try to be a little considerate for goodness sake! haha)...

So glad you got to have a little date night with your hubby and get things back in perspective a little. It's so hard for us to think about today when we want to live in the future... but we all need to balance that a little better I think, be thankful for what we have now, enjoy our hubbies, and realize that we can live in the now a little more...

Yes, the control thing is SO HARD. We control so much of our own lives, and we are accustomed to instant gratification in this country... TTC is definitely God's way of telling us "nope! I'm still in control and you just have to let me be!"... GRRRRRR...

Shannon, I've done 3 acupuncture for infertility appointments...I go right around the time of ovulation, maybe 1 week before and 1 the week of... my acupuncutrist did tell me that it's helping, but I think the more the better probably, to train your body and get rid of the negative energy... for whatever that's worth!
