So, I just finished reading, The Conception Chronicles; the Uncensored Truth About Sex, Love and Marriage When You Are Trying To Get Pregnant by Patty Doyle Debano.

I loved this book! It was an easy read that was jammed packed with information. In addition, the humor was wonderfully used when addressing the "hard emotional stuff."

The book is set up like many others. The chapter topics are as follows:
1. Practice Makes Perfect, Right?
2. Finding Your Fertile Self
3. If the Stick is Blue, You Know What to Do!
4. The Fertile Friend
5. Calling in the Pros
6. The Angry Ovulator
7. Testing, Testing...one, two, three
8. The Psychotic Supplement
9. The Envelope, Please
10. Give it Your Best Shot
11. What Do You Tell the Paparazzi?
12. IVF" I Vow Not to Freak Out
13. There's More Than One Road to Motherhood
14. Mama, Madre, Mommy, Mum

You can tell by the chapter titles, that the authors have a great sense of humor! The book is basically an informational guide of what to expect when you are trying to get pregnant. It addresses topics such as choosing a doctor and the frustrations in trying to take advantage of your most fertile days.

What makes this book unique is that the text is supplemented by related e-mails that the authors sent each other as they were individually trying to become pregnant. Many are hysterical...some are poignant as well.

The authors seem to really nail the emotional roller coaster and internal dialogue that we all experience when we are trying to become pregnant.

Definitely an enjoyable read!

I just bought this book a few days ago and I am already almost done with it. It is an easy read and they really hit the nail on the head with sooo many TTC topics. It's like the authors have been on these sites. I love this book. Can't wait to finish it. I highly recommend it. The humor is great and like Elizabeth said, very informational. Smile

I just got this book this book yesterday and am almost done with it! It is an easy read, but that is nice, since we already have enough to think about! Its funny and it made me think "well at least I don't do THAT!" In other words that my crazy thoughts and behaviors aren't as bad as they could be! Laughing out loud My DH even started reading it!

I read this book recently, and really enjoyed it. For the first time in a while, I didn't feel quite as alone, going through all this TTC madness. So many of my thoughts, fears, guilty emotions, stressful emotions, etc., were all there, being expressed by someone else...making me feel a lot less crazy, and a lot less scared. I would recommend this book to anyone TTC, as a way to relieve some stress, while still getting some good quality medical advice.
