When trying to become pregnant we know that diet is important. One food to be careful of is fish. Some kinds of fish contain high levels of mercury, so the FDA suggests that you avoid eating titlefish, shark, swordfish, albacore and king mackerel. The reason is that the high mercury content can be toxic for babies in utero.
Fortunately, there are other safe fish options that you can chose from. However, you should try to not eat more than 12 ounces of your fish of choice on a weekly basis. So if fish is on the menu for dinner tonight, make sure it is catfish, salmon or shrimp.
