Antioxidants and Semen

Did you know that if you are not getting enough antioxidants in your diet that it  may be affecting the quality of your sperm?

This is what research from Alicante and Murcia infertility centers has shown to be true. Their findings are currently published in the online journal, Fertility and Sterility.

In their study they looked at 61 men, half of who were struggling with fertility issues. What they found was that within this group, the men who ate lots of fruit and veggies had much healthier sperm than those who ate a lot of meat and high fat dairy products.

The reason for this is that the fruits and veggies are higher in antioxidants. They also contain more vitamins, folic acid and and fiber which are important in overall reproductive health.

So men, to ensure that your sperm is healthy in both mobility and morphology, make sure you are eating a healthy diet that includes lots of fruits and veggies!
